Easter festivities

Indianapolis, IN

Andrea says, “Apparently, people were in a hurry to get back to the Easter festivities.”

Grassy knoll

Virginia Beach, VA

Molly explains, “In a partially-empty parking lot on a Sunday afternoon—Easter Sunday no less—you’d think the SUV’s driver would be able to find a large enough space. Then again, I guess that’s what grass medians are for—overflow.”

Ignoring the obvious

New York City, NY

All I’m told is that this was taken on St. Patrick’s Day. Dude must be Irish and figured rules don’t apply on this day.

Middle of nowhere

Jackson, MS

John took this photo at his workplace. “The gentleman parking in the middle of the parking lot probably was only following the lead of other drivers who had parked next to the green compact car in the left of the photo. We have enough legitimate parking spots, however, so this kind of parking really isn’t excusable.”

Hover car

San Francisco, CA

Kirsten says, “The owner of this Sebring parked up on the curb, making the passenger side look like a hovercar from the back, and also blocked our driveway by at least 8 inches. [Because of the angle] it doesn’t look as if it’s hanging over that far, but it was way over what’s usually allowed out of courtesy in SF.”

Why haven’t we invented real hover cars yet?

Vanity parking

Santa Monica, CA

Larry said this Corvette, besides parking poorly, also had a vanity plate (that he kindly obscured per the rules – thank you!) which makes this whole scene extra obnoxious.

Turned around

Wilmington, DE

‘Always Looking’ says, “As you can plainly see the car is parked a good distance from the curb, but what really grabbed my attention was it’s parked facing the wrong way on the wrong side of the street (as you can see the direction of the car at it’s nose).”

This isn’t only annoying, I’m pretty sure it’s illegal.

Posh parking

Las Vegas, NV

Stephanie provided all the angles, and explains, “I think this driver didn’t want to risk anyone denting his car. It would serve him right if someone parked in that 2/3 of a space he left open.”

If he was so worried about dents, maybe he could have parked in the back of the lot and leave the prime spots to those of us with cheap cars.

Extended stay

Las Vegas, NV

Stephanie explains, “Although this may not look like a dramatic example of bad parking, the circumstances surrounding it make it a lot worse. First of all, I found this Camaro parked like this next to my car when I was leaving for work. I had a little over a foot of space to squeeze into my car, and the Camaro was seriously dusty, which rubbed onto my black work pants. Secondly, this parking lot is at my apartment complex on campus, so spaces are at a premium. If the lot is full, the nearest place to park (without paying for a parking permit) is at a retail parking lot half a mile away. The owner of this Camaro apparently went on vacation, because he left his car parked like this for a month.”

Dirty work pants and an extended poorly parked stay? That’s just rude.

Criss cross

Seattle, WA

Sparky says, “These parking spots were freaking huge, yet the truck still managed to hang out over the line into a handicap parking spot.”

That’s what happens when you drive the wrong way down the diagnol parking lanes. Stop doing that!
