HD=??

Atlanta, GA

Meg took this at Phipps Plaza underground parking lot. “Maybe the HD in his vanity license plate means huge douche.”

Update: Wow you guys got pissed about the whole bonus points for figuring out the vanity plate deal. Calm down, I’ve deleted it. And you’ll just have to take Meg’s word that there was an HD in there somewhere. Geez, you really gotta watch yourself on this site.

Snow climbing

Gurnee, IL

Xero says, “Chicagoland (and other parts of the country) experienced a particularly brutal winter this past year that was full of tons of snow, random warm days, thawing and freezing, thawing and freezing, and so on. What happened to most parking lots during this time was regrettable at best, but this picture was taken at a rather large shopping mall in the Gurnee area (you can guess which one if you know anything about the area).

It is of a Toyota FJ Cruiser parked with both front wheels well up onto a large pile of icy snow that is the remnants of the plowing job. Also note that if the snow pile was not there, they would still be on the grassy island rather than the parking spot. Double parking failure (pun intended)?”

Multiple citations

Chicago, IL

Sean says, “These are some pictures that I took of a car that was parked up the street from my apartment building in Chicago.  This car has been parked like this for days, and has been ticketed multiple times, as you can see from the picture.  According to a man who saw me taking the picture, the tow truck was dispatched already and was going to tow it any minute. The tow was justified because U-haul trucks are unable to make the turn from their driveway at the U-haul located there without hitting the car, due to how far into the street the rear of the car sticks out.

Apparently the car had been hit once or twice already.  I can think of no reason why any sober person would leave a car parked like this.”

Appetite

Wichita, KS

Lauren says, “This was at a Spangles (local fast food) and there was pretty much no one there. I guess the owner was just too hungry to park correctly.”

Hum drum

Wilmington, DE

Megan took this at the Concord Mall. “This is one of many reasons hummers and their owners are so despised.”

Down by the river

Tumwater, WA

Matthew says took this on a hot day, at the park by the river where people like to float on their innertubes. “It seems this guy didn’t want other people to crowd the river. (And he overshot the pavement. But it didn’t work.”

Old people parking?

Toledo, OH

Evilwebqueen took this at the AAA on Airport Hwy. “The office was full of old people so it’s hard to tell which one of them angled in badly, forcing the SUV to straddle two spots.”

Old people? Huh?

Limited spaces

Ottawa, Ontario

Flatcura ways, “In the parking area for my work there are only a handful of spaces for a few dozen cars, so its first come first serve with many people usually having to park very far away. The lady who owns this SUV has been lightheartedly mocked by me several times for her inability to stick to one space. This morning i decided to submit her.”

Grocery shopping

Utica, NY

Jason says, “I went in to do some grocery shopping and noticed this monstrosity, with no tag or anything, parked like this, and I snapped a picture. When I returned to my car, there was a decidedly not handicapped woman loading it full with groceries. Standing on the painted handicap space indicator.”

Even if she had a handicap not readily available, this is some pretty interesting parking.
