Since my father drove a toyota hiace for 20 years he knows why people park like that. (and he does it himself when he drives the volvo.)

The “line” comment brings up something I’ve recently concluded after seeing countless full sized pickups squeezed into “compact only” spaces — those spaces should have lines at the end, and the notation “if your vehicle is longer than this, it is not compact.”
